The first solo project designed by Frank Smith, Eddie Romanellis became a fixture of the Wilmington restaurant circuit in the early 1990’s After almost 20 years the architecture endures, but the dining concept was changed by LM Restaurants to become Hops Supply.

Andrews Residence
A custom home designed as a vacation home for a busy couple that enjoys entertaining at the coast. The south-facing beach called for the vernacular use of extensive porches and overhangs to mitigate the sun and rain, while maximizing the local sea breeze for outdoor living.
Milligan Residence
A custom home designed on the marsh front in the coastal community of Landfall, reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright’s prairie-style The generous lot allowed for the capture of the expansive views, with the large overhangs minimizing direct sunlight.
The Glasgow at Trilith
The Glasgow townhomes were an early attached product for Pinewood Forest, now known as Trilith. They are a product of a collaboration between Lew Oliver Inc. and Smith2 Architecture. Lew as the lead land planner and designer at Trilith, led the design with S2A+D serving as the Architect of Record.

The Varsity
This mixed-use infill development maximizes a remnant parcel for attached housing in prime location with close proximity to the local university. One building of three, provides a neighborhood commercial presence. The project is under construction and nearing completion.
Pinehurst No. 9 Golf Cabins and Lodge
Conceptual designs developed for transient lodging at one of the country’s premier golf destinations.
The designs included a group of quadraplex 2-bedroom units, and a 12-unit lodge with an administrative and maintenance support facility implementation.
